Certainly! Akoya pearls are renowned for what we call ball-bearing luster, or luster that is mirror-sharp, meaning that reflections appearing in their surfaces will be highly detailed and reflected light sources (those patches of white light seen on the surfaces) will be very sharp and crisp, with little to no blurring around the edges.
AA+ Quality Akoya pearl luster will be highly reflective; you will be able to see your face reflected in the surface of the pearl, although not all of the details (like your smile), but the outline of your face and its features will be present. Those squares (or rectangles, depending on the light source) of white light on the surface of the pearls will show some faint blurring around the edges, like this picture below:
AAA Quality Akoya pearl luster will be very highly reflective. You will be able to see your smile reflected in the surface of the pearls, and you will be able to make out specific facial features. Reflected light sources will be very sharp and crisp, with little to no blurring or "satining" around the edges. As with any gem, the majority of a pearl's value (any pearl), will be in its luster grade: how well the pearl reflects and refracts light is what makes this gem beautiful! The higher and more intense the luster is, the more you'll be able to appreciate this understated gem's natural beauty.
Hope this helps!
