Surely! We offer both white Freshwater and white Akoya pearls to choose from.
White Freshwater pearls will be slightly off-round in shape, and a touchable, satiny luster that is very pleasing to the eye. They are from the Freshwater pearl farms of China, and are incredibly durable because of their solid-nacre composition (i.e. they’re pure crystal). They are considered our “budget-friendly” pearls, ranging from $100-$500 depending on the size and quality you choose. The picture below shows our typical “AAA” quality luster and pearl shape.
White Akoya pearls are saltwater pearls, and Japanese in origin. They are a bit more expensive – they range in price from $250-$2,000 or so. The Akoya pearls are considered the “classic” high-end pearl necklace; these are what you’ll find when you go to a fine jewelry store such as Tiffany’s or Mikimoto’s (although we will save you a bundle!). They are known for being perfectly round, white, and highly lustrous … they have what we would consider to be “ball bearing” or mirror-like luster, so you’ll be able to see detailed reflections in the pearls surfaces. As you can see in the picture below, the Akoya pearls are very bright, and reflect a lot of light!
