For the last three and a half years that I have headed the Production Office at Pure I have met more than my fair share of wonderful people and seen some stunning jewelry- indeed, it’s been an easy slice of time, working here! The customers-turned-friends, the letters, the Art, and the joy of creation: bringing the elements of Nature, design and vision together into a single finished work of art! I think of all these things, and I wanted to say Thank You. To each and every one of you- working with you has been a privilege and a pleasure, and I am very much mindful that without you, there would be no Pure, and my little world would be that much greyer.

January, 2010 is bringing with it many exciting changes- changes that Pure has needed, and changes that many of you have suggested. PurePearls.com has been sold (!!) to a very fine gentleman from Kentucky named Bruce Turner, whom I’d like to take a moment to introduce to you. A former investment banker and family man, Bruce decided to take on the many challenges of owning a small online business and I am very pleased to have him here! The transaction took place in early November, and was quite a big surprise for all involved. Amanda is doing very well- we definitely keep in touch- but she did decide that it was time for her to move on from Pure. Bruce has some exciting new ideas for the website, and we are looking forward to a total site redesign!

In the next coming months you can expect to see a new, improved website, featuring bright, crisp, new pictures and innovative new jewelry selections in addition to our long-standing classics. A more convenient shopping experience, greater user accessibility and an emphasis on updated graphics and layout are all features that we consider top priorities- and again, I’d very much like your ideas, thoughts and critiques as we begin a new chapter for PurePearls.com! My door (or phone, or email!) is always open, and I look forward to hearing from each and every one of you as we begin a new chapter and a brand new Year at Pure. Summer is nearly here, and with it- Wedding Season! I know, I know- brides get married all the time, but with the endless blue summer skies, greenery, flowers and sunshine, the summer months always seem so… perfect for tying the knot. The latest custom design piece pictured below was dreamt up by one of our lovely brides to be (in June- congratulations, Mary!), and it turned out so lovely that I’d thought I’d share with you. The double-strand pearl bracelet consists of our gorgeous Elite Collection Freshwater pearls, 7.0-8.0mm, White with a Subtle Ivory Overtone and very crisp, sharp luster; she chose to finish the bracelet using our Diamond Double Figure Eight clasp in 18K Gold, which I think lends a very Old-World, Victorian-era feel to the whole piece. It’s that time again- Yes, Prominent Pearl Sightings are back! The adage is true: Pearls and Politics are definitely a good mix. I was watching the highlights of Hillary Clinton’s Secretary of State confirmation hearing last night, and her absolutely gorgeous multi-color South Sea and Tahitian strand of pearls hit me like a ton of bricks! She looked fabulous- poised, elegant, no-nonsense and very, very chic.

Strong, saturated hues in jewel tones (hopefully we’ll be getting more of these soon to restock our Tahitian Pearl Necklace selection that everyone liked so much), metallic luster and their large sizes 12mm (?) combined to set blogs and fashionistas a-buzzing this morning- who knows, maybe this will spark another “Pelosi Strand” wave!? In any case, the hearing went off without a hitch and the nominee is expected to be confirmed next week by an overwhelming majority vote. While I am quite sure that pearls had nothing to do with how well Hillary held her own yesterday, they sure couldn’t have hurt!
